Buy the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Classic if you want a 1 kWh unit to keep a fridge, router and lights going overnight in an outage, refill from the wall in about an hour and never expand. Skip it if you might add batteries later, need a 12 V car outlet for a CPAP or camping fridge, or want to carry it one-handed. It has the same 1,024 Wh battery, 1,800 W output and 10 ms UPS switchover as the rest of the DELTA 3 family, with fewer extras.

What will it run, and for how long?

Each device on its own from a full charge, running nonstop (the fridge and blanket cycle as normal). Includes the battery reserve, conversion losses and standby draw from our published formula. With no car outlet listed, the CPAP row uses its AC power supply.

The Classic holds its own for an overnight outage, a home office on UPS and a budget overnight. It's ruled out for one-hand CPAP travel at 26.7 lb, and like every 1 kWh unit it can't cover a full day of fridge backup.

What does it do well?

  • Plenty of output for 1 kWh. 1,800 W continuous runs a typical microwave or coffee maker, and the 3,600 W surge is higher than most models its size, which helps compressors and pumps start.
  • Refills in about an hour. EcoFlow lists a full charge from the wall in 60 minutes at up to 1,400 W, with no app setting needed.
  • A published UPS switchover. Under 10 ms, which suits routers, CPAP machines and many desktop PCs.
  • Simple. Battery, inverter, UPS and an app, without paying for expansion hardware you may never use.

What should you know before you buy?

  • No expansion. EcoFlow lists no extra-battery support for the Classic. If 1 kWh might not be enough, the base DELTA 3 is the safer start.
  • No car outlet in the spec table. That rules out plugging in a CPAP DC cable or a 12 V camping fridge directly; both have to go through AC adapters, which costs some efficiency.
  • Standby draw may be higher than we assume. The Solar Lab reported about 17 W with the inverter on, above the 12 W default we use for this size. With only a router plugged in, that would cut runtime from about 31 h to about 27 h. Turn the AC output off when you're only charging phones over USB.
  • Check auto-off for a fridge or CPAP. EcoFlow's DELTA 2 manual advises setting AC output to always on for a refrigerator holding medicine. Do the same on the Classic for any fridge or CPAP you rely on overnight, so a low load doesn't switch the outlets off.
  • Warranty is 3 years plus 2. EcoFlow's five years are three standard plus two after you register the unit in the app, and its US warranty covers purchases from EcoFlow or an authorized seller, so keep proof of purchase.
  • Solar tops out at 500 W. That's fine for topping up, but it's half what some 1 kWh rivals accept.

What are the closest alternatives?

The base EcoFlow DELTA 3 keeps the same battery and output and adds what the Classic leaves out: 6 AC outlets, a 12 V car outlet, 1,500 W charging and EcoFlow extra batteries for about 5 kWh, at 0.9 lb more. Our DELTA 3 vs 3 Plus vs 3 Classic comparison covers all three. The Anker SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 is 1.8 lb lighter with 2,000 W output, a car outlet and a 5-year warranty, though it can't be expanded either; see our C1000 Gen 2 guide.

Who should buy it, and who shouldn't?

  • Buy it for overnight home outages with a fridge, router and lights, as a UPS for a home office, or to run a microwave briefly, when you're sure 1 kWh is all you'll want.
  • Skip it if you'll camp with a 12 V fridge, travel with a CPAP on its DC cable, want a day of fridge backup or think you'll add batteries. The sizing quiz checks your devices against every model.

What people actually ask

What's the difference between the DELTA 3 Classic and the DELTA 3?

Same 1,024 Wh battery, 1,800 W output, 3,600 W surge and 10 ms UPS switchover. EcoFlow's US spec table for the Classic lists no extra-battery support and no 12 V car outlet, and it charges at 1,400 W instead of 1,500 W. The base DELTA 3 adds both, plus more AC outlets.

Can the DELTA 3 Classic run a refrigerator?

Yes. Its 3,600 W surge easily covers a fridge compressor's start, and a typical top-freezer fridge runs for about 15 hours on its own from a full charge. EcoFlow's DELTA 2 manual advises setting AC output to always on for a fridge holding medicine; check the same setting in the Classic's app.

Can I run a CPAP on the DELTA 3 Classic?

Yes, through the CPAP's own AC power supply, since the Classic's spec table lists no 12 V car outlet for a DC cable. With the humidifier off that lasts about 37 hours of nonstop running. This is power planning, not medical advice: check your CPAP maker's power specs, talk to your doctor, and register with your utility's medical program.

Does the DELTA 3 Classic work with extra batteries?

EcoFlow doesn't list any. If you want to grow past 1 kWh later, the base DELTA 3 and the DELTA 3 Plus both connect to EcoFlow extra batteries for about 5 kWh.

What is X-Boost on the DELTA 3 Classic?

A mode that lowers the voltage so heating appliances rated above 1,800 W, such as a hair dryer, run at reduced power instead of tripping the unit. EcoFlow's page lists 2,600 W and other coverage 2,400 W. It doesn't add capacity and doesn't help motors start.

The bottom line

The DELTA 3 Classic is the DELTA 3 with the extras removed: same 1,024 Wh, 1,800 W and 10 ms UPS, with an hour-long recharge, but no listed car outlet or expansion. Buy it for a simple overnight backup at home, about 15 h with a fridge; buy the base DELTA 3 if there's any chance you'll want more.
