Buy the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus if you want a 1 kWh unit for a fridge and home office that charges from the wall in under an hour, lists a 10 ms UPS switchover and can grow to 5 kWh with extra batteries. Skip it if you need a full night of fridge plus extras without buying a battery, need 240 V, or don't care about 140 W USB-C and a second solar input; the base DELTA 3 has the same battery, output and expansion. It holds 1,024 Wh of LiFePO4, supplies 1,800 W continuously with a 3,600 W surge, and weighs 27.6 lb.

What will it run, and for how long?

Each device on its own from a full charge of the base unit, running nonstop (the fridge and sump pump cycle as normal). Includes the battery reserve, conversion losses and standby draw from our published formula.

Where the DELTA 3 Plus wins, and where it's ruled out

We ran eight common situations through the quiz engine. Rank is among every model that passes the hard limits.

SituationResultRuntime or reason
Outage overnight: fridge, Wi-Fi and phones (carry it) #5 of 20About 11 h
Outage for a full day, same devices (wheels OK) #9 of 20About 2.2 days with an extra battery
CPAP for two nights away, one-hand carry Ruled out28 lb is heavier than you want to carry.
Weekend car camping: 12 V fridge, lights, phones, with solar #10 of 16About 27 h
RV day: fan, TV, laptop, phones #19 of 25About 3.2 days with an extra battery
Remote work day: Starlink, laptop, phone Ruled outRuns your devices for about 7.2 h; you asked for 24 h.
Home office on UPS: router, laptop, phone, overnight #3 of 20About 16 h
Overnight essentials on a budget under $500 Ruled outUsually sells above your budget.

The pattern is clear: on its own, 1,024 Wh covers a fridge, router and phones through a 10-hour night with little to spare, and falls just short once lights are added too. With an extra battery the engine counts it for a full day of outage and RV use. At 27.6 lb it's out of one-hand CPAP travel, and it usually sells above the under $500 budget band.

What does it do well?

  • Fast wall charging. 56 minutes to full at up to 1,500 W, so a short break in an outage or an hour on shore power refills it.
  • UPS for a home office. A listed switchover under 10 ms covers a router, modem or desktop PC; the table above shows about 3.5 h for a desktop and monitor.
  • Room to grow. EcoFlow lists several compatible extra batteries, including DELTA 2 and DELTA Pro 3 models, for up to 5,000 Wh.
  • Plenty of outlets. 6 AC outlets, 2 USB-C ports at up to 140 W, 2 USB-A and a 12 V car outlet, which runs a CPAP without the humidifier for about 3.1 days.
  • Starts motors. The 3,600 W surge starts a fridge or a ½ hp sump pump with room to spare.

What should you know before you buy?

  • One battery is one night, barely. About 15 h for a fridge alone drops to just under 10 hours once Wi-Fi, phones and lights share the battery. If outages run overnight where you live, budget for an extra battery or look at a 2 kWh unit.
  • 1,800 W is the cap for everything at once. A microwave or space heater runs, but only for about 31 min at full power, and not alongside other big loads. X-Boost doesn't raise this limit for motors.
  • No 240 V. 240 V well pumps, dryers and HVAC are out. Feeding house circuits needs a transfer switch or inlet installed by a licensed electrician.
  • Solar input is unclear. EcoFlow lists "500W Max*2" across two ports without a clear total, so we count 500 W (11-60V) until it's confirmed.
  • Warranty depends on registration. EcoFlow's 5-year warranty is 3 years standard plus 2 more after you register in the app.

The Anker SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 has the same 1,024 Wh battery size with 2,000 W output at 24.9 lb and a 10 ms UPS switchover, but no expansion battery; see C1000 Gen 2 vs DELTA 3 Plus. The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Classic keeps the 1,024 Wh battery and 1,800 W output in a 26.7 lb unit, but drops the car outlet and expansion; see our DELTA 3 Classic guide or the three-way DELTA 3 comparison.

Who should buy it, and who shouldn't?

  • Buy it for evening and short overnight outages with a fridge and router, for a home office that shouldn't drop when the power blinks, or if you want to start at 1 kWh and add batteries later.
  • Skip it if you want a whole night of fridge and extras without an add-on battery, need 240 V, or want the lightest 1 kWh unit. The sizing quiz checks your devices against every model.

What people actually ask

How long will the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus run a refrigerator?

About 15 h for a typical top-freezer fridge on its own from a full charge. Add Wi-Fi, phones and lights and our engine puts it just under a 10-hour night, so plan on recharging or adding an extra battery. At the 5,000 Wh maximum with extra batteries, the same fridge runs about 3.1 days.

What's the difference between the DELTA 3 Plus and the base DELTA 3?

The battery, inverter output and expansion are the same. The Plus adds faster USB-C ports (140 W instead of 100 W) and a second solar input. If you don't need those, the base DELTA 3 does the same job.

Is the DELTA 3 Plus a real UPS?

EcoFlow lists a switchover under 10 ms, which routers, modems and most desktop PCs ride through. It still isn't a zero-millisecond online UPS: power station makers exclude servers, workstations and medical devices that need 0 ms switching.

What does X-Boost mean for the DELTA 3 Plus?

X-Boost lets a heating appliance rated up to 2,200 W, such as a kettle or hair dryer, run at the unit's rated output, so it heats more slowly. It isn't extra power: motors and compressors still need to fit within 1,800 W, and EcoFlow says X-Boost doesn't suit devices with strict voltage requirements.

Can it run a sump pump?

A typical ½ hp sump pump starts within its 3,600 W surge, and the battery covers about 15 h of normal cycling on its own. A pump that runs constantly in a storm drains it much faster. Plug the pump straight into the unit; don't wire it into the house without a licensed electrician.

The bottom line

The DELTA 3 Plus is a fast-charging 1 kWh unit with a 10 ms UPS switchover, six AC outlets and a path to 5,000 Wh. On its own it covers about 15 h of fridge, so treat it as a one-night battery at best unless you add one. If you don't need 140 W USB-C or the second solar input, the base DELTA 3 is the same machine otherwise.
