Buy the Anker SOLIX C2000 Gen 2 if you want a full day of fridge backup, an RV outlet or room to double the capacity later, and you'll mostly roll it rather than carry it. Skip it if you need 240 V for a well pump, want to carry it one-handed, or only need one night of backup, where a 1 kWh unit does the job at half the weight. It holds 2,048 Wh of LiFePO4, supplies 2,400 W continuously and takes one extra battery for 4,096 Wh.

What will it run, and for how long?

Each device on its own from a full charge of the base unit, running nonstop (the fridge, blanket and air conditioner cycle as normal). Includes the battery reserve, conversion losses and standby draw from our published formula.

Where the C2000 Gen 2 wins, and where it's ruled out

We ran eight common situations through the quiz engine. Rank is among every model that passes the hard limits.

SituationResultRuntime or reason
Outage overnight: fridge, Wi-Fi and phones (carry it) #10 of 20About 21 h
Outage for a full day, same devices (wheels OK) #10 of 20About 40 h with an extra battery
CPAP for two nights away, one-hand carry Ruled out42 lb is heavier than you want to carry.
Weekend car camping: 12 V fridge, lights, phones, with solar #2 of 16About 45 h
RV day: fan, TV, laptop, phones #1 of 25About 28 h
Remote work day: Starlink, laptop, phone Ruled outRuns your devices for about 14 h; you asked for 24 h.

Overnight essentials on a budget under $500 Ruled outUsually sells above your budget.

This is where a 2 kWh unit earns its weight: an RV day, a camping weekend with solar, and a full-day outage once the extra battery is counted. It's ruled out of one-hand CPAP travel at 41.7 lb and out of the under $500 budget case, and for a single overnight outage a 1 kWh unit is often the better fit.

What does it do well?

  • A full day of fridge backup. About 28 h for a top-freezer fridge on its own, which 1 kWh units can't reach.
  • Room to grow, once. One BP2000 battery takes it to 4,096 Wh, enough for about 2.3 days of fridge.
  • An RV outlet. The TT-30 plugs straight into an RV's 30 A inlet, and the 4,000 W surge starts a 13,500 BTU rooftop air conditioner.
  • Fast to refill. 58 minutes from the wall at up to 1,800 W, up to 800 W of solar on one XT60 input, and alternator charging at up to 800 W.
  • UPS and warranty. A listed switchover under 10 ms and a 5-year warranty.

What should you know before you buy?

  • 2,400 W is the cap for everything at once. The TT-30 outlet is limited to 20 A, and the inverter's limit applies to all outlets together, so an RV air conditioner and a microwave can't run at the same time.
  • No 240 V. Well pumps, dryers and 240 V HVAC are out. Connecting it to house circuits needs a transfer switch or inlet installed by a licensed electrician.
  • Heavy for one person to carry far. 41.7 lb, typical for a 2 kWh unit but too much to carry far. Plan to roll it on a cart or keep it in one place.
  • USB-C ports are output only. You can't charge the station itself over USB-C.
  • Cycle rating. Anker states 4,000 cycles in one place and 3,000+ in another; we use 3,000 to 80%.
  • Check the AC outlet count. We list four standard outlets plus the TT-30, but that count isn't confirmed on Anker's spec sheet yet.

What are the closest alternatives?

If one night is enough, the Anker SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 runs the same overnight devices with 2,000 W output at 24.9 lb, though it can't be expanded; see our C1000 Gen 2 guide. The Jackery Explorer 2000 v2 is another 2 kWh unit at 39.5 lb, with 2,200 W output and a 20 ms UPS switchover, but no expansion battery, no TT-30 outlet and a 3-year warranty.

Who should buy it, and who shouldn't?

  • Buy it for outages that last a day, for RV trips where the TT-30 saves an adapter, for camping weekends with solar, or if you want to start at 2 kWh and add a battery later.
  • Skip it if you need 240 V, want to carry it often, or need more than 2,400 W at once. If a night of backup is all you need, a 1 kWh unit is lighter. The sizing quiz checks your devices against every model.

What people actually ask

How long will the Anker C2000 Gen 2 run a refrigerator?

About 28 hours for a typical top-freezer fridge on its own, and about 2.3 days with the BP2000 extra battery attached. A fridge plus Wi-Fi, phones and a couple of lights still gets you through a night with room to spare.

Can the C2000 Gen 2 power an RV?

It has a TT-30 outlet, the standard 30 A RV plug, but Anker limits it to 20 A, and the whole unit supplies 2,400 W. That starts and runs a 13,500 BTU RV air conditioner, but only for about 1.6 hours on its own; the fridge, fan, lights and TV last much longer, but not the air conditioner and a microwave at the same time.

Can I add an extra battery to the C2000 Gen 2?

Yes, one. The Anker SOLIX BP2000 battery doubles capacity to 4,096 Wh. That's the ceiling; for more, look at Anker's F-series or another brand's home-backup systems.

Can the C2000 Gen 2 run a well pump or connect to my house?

Not a 240 V well pump: it has no 240 V output. It can feed selected 120 V circuits through a transfer switch or power inlet, which must be installed by a licensed electrician. Never plug a power station into a wall outlet to back-feed the house.

Can I charge it from my car?

Yes. Anker lists alternator charging at up to 800 W; check which car-charging accessory that needs before you count on it. From the wall it charges in about an hour at up to 1,800 W.

The bottom line

The C2000 Gen 2 is the step up from 1 kWh: about 28 h of fridge on its own, a TT-30 for RVs, 2,400 W output and one extra battery for 4,096 Wh. It's worth the 41.7 lb when outages last a day or you're powering an RV; for a single night, the C1000 Gen 2 does the same job at half the weight.
